Thomas F. Lüscher

Professor Lüscher, MD, FRCP, FESC, is a board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology and now Director of Research, Education & Development at the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals and professor of cardiology and Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Academic Group at King’s College in London, UK. He works part-time as Chairman of the Center for Molecular Cardiology at the University of Zurich (www.cmc.uzh.ch). 

He has mentored numerous colleagues with many holding chairs at universities worldwide. His research focuses on vascular biology and acute coronary syndromes. He is among the 0.1% most cited scientists with a h-index of 155 (Scopus). 

He is editor of the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular and the Manual of Cardiovascular Medicine (both Oxford University Press). He is active on social media and has a YouTube channel. He was editor-in-chief of the European Heart Journal and continues as is president of the European Society of Cardiology 2024-2026.
