Senior Researcher, Institute of Computer Science – FORTH and Collaborating Researcher GRnet, Greece
Dr. Irini Fundulaki is Director of Research at the Institute of Computer Science (ICS), Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), and Collaborating Researcher at GRNET, with extensive expertise in data management, information systems, and health data infrastructures. Her recent work has focused strongly on precision medicine, where she has played a leading scientific role in national and European initiatives that bridge biomedical research, health data governance, and advanced computational infrastructures. Since 2018, she has served as scientific supervisor for ICS-FORTH in Greece’s National Flagship Actions on Precision Medicine, including the Hellenic Precision Medicine Networks on Cancer and Molecular Oncology, the National Network for Genetic Cardiovascular Diseases and Prevention of Sudden Death in the Young, and the National Research Network for Neurodegenerative Diseases.
Since 2025, she has been contributing to the implementation of the European Health Data Space through the GR-HDAB and TEHDAS2 projects at national and European levels, and since January 2026 she leads the Health Vertical of the Greek AI Factory Pharos. Her work combines expertise in semantic data management, interoperability, and AI-enabled health research to advance data-driven precision medicine ecosystems.
