Ioannis E. Liatakis

Cardiologist, Evangelismos General Hospital, Athens, Greece 

Dr. Ioannis E. Liatakis is a Consultant Cardiologist with specialized expertise in inherited cardiomyopathies and inherited arrhythmic disorders. Since June 2019 he has served as a Cardiologist at the Department of Cardiomyopathies and Sudden Cardiac Death Prevention, Evangelismos General Hospital, Athens. He previously held academic and research positions at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and has been actively involved in the GR Inherited Network and the Precision Medicine Network in Cardiology.

Dr. Liatakis obtained his Cardiology specialty in 2018 following residency training at Evangelismos General Hospital and Argos General Hospital. He earned his MD from the Athens Medical School, NKUA, graduating with honors, and completed his PhD at NKUA in 2025 with distinction.

His academic activities include participation in multicenter international studies and collaboration with the Hypertension Unit of the 1st University Cardiology Clinic, Hippokration Hospital. He has also been an invited lecturer at many national and international cardiology congresses and has many publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. In addition, he is an invited lecturer in postgraduate programs at NKUA and has served since 2011 as an instructor and course director in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) seminars.

He speaks English and German.
