Dr Dimitra Antonakaki is a Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in Inherited & Rare Cardiovascular Conditions, Cardiovascular Imaging and Sports Cardiology. Following her graduation from Athens Medical School, she completed both her medical education and cardiology training in the United Kingdom. She currently works at the National reference centre for Inherited and Rare Cardiovascular Conditions Onassis Hospital in Athens. Following completion of cardiology training, Dr Antonakaki undertook advanced fellowship training in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Multimodality Imaging at St Bartholomew’s Cardiothoracic Centre, followed by a consultant position in Inherited Cardiac Conditions at John Radcliffe University Hospital, Oxford. She holds an MSc with distinction in Sports Cardiology from City St George’s, University of London, and an Executive MSc in Health Economics and Management for the LSE from the department of Health Policy, supported by scholarships from the European Society of Cardiology and the Onassis Foundation. Dr Antonakaki is actively engaged in education and academic leadership as Senior Clinical Lecturer in the MSc Sports Cardiology programme at St George’s, University of London, leading teaching in inherited cardiovascular diseases and genomics. Within the ESC, she serves as Communication Coordinator for the Council on Cardiovascular Genomics and contributes to European educational initiatives through the Educational Committee of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology and as a Nucleus Member in the Sports Section of the EAPC.
