Dr. Alexandros Kasiakogias, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and elected Assistant Professor at the Cardiogenetics and Sports Cardiology Unit of the 1st Cardiology Department, Hippokration General Hospital, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School. After completing his cardiology training in Athens, he moved to the United Kingdom for advanced subspecialty training in Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Sports Cardiology at St George’s University Hospital. He subsequently pursued NHS fellowships in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance and Adult Cardiomyopathy at Royal Brompton Hospital. Dr. Kasiakogias is certified in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance imaging (Level III, EACVI & SCMR) and transthoracic echocardiography (EACVI). He earned his PhD from the Medical School of Athens and currently serves as Associate Editor of the Hellenic Journal of Cardiology. He is also a nucleus member of the Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases of the European Society of Cardiology.
